Business
not as usual:
Environmentally sustainable
communities
We must create them.
How do we do it?
You’re invited to a Spirit-led discussion*
in
the Quaker tradition, as we observe
the
International Day of Peace
Sunday, September 21, 2008
12:30 - 2:00pm
(light
refreshments at 12:15pm)
Frederick Friends Meetinghouse
723 N. Market Street
*participants, if so moved, are encouraged to respectfully speak their
thoughts on the environment & sustainable communities
Why are we doing this?
Many recent world conflicts
and catastrophes -- the 9-11 attacks, the Iraq war, Darfur , the Russia -
Georgia conflict, tensions with Iran -- arguably have energy
policy (particularly oil ) at their root.
Our congregation, along with other groups, recognizes that issues of
energy, environment and peace are linked.
Sustainable living will be at the intersection of stability in all 3
areas. We believe that, with
each other’s help and reverence in our hearts, the Creator will help us find
our way forward. Please join us
in taking a small step together.
